A relation between two sets is a subset of a Cartesian Product.
For example the numbers and letters of a telephone dialpad are an example of a relation. In this case, 2 is related to a,b,c and 3 is related to d,e,f
Relations will come into greater play with different sets of numbers...like the real, integers, and naturals.
